Golf Coach Tried to Hire Hit Man To Kill Children He Sexually Abused: Police

California golf coach Andrew Michael Nisbet had helped plan and run the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships before he was charged with 75 counts of child abuse.

A California golf coach jailed on 75 counts of child molestation chargers is now accused of attempting to hire a hit man to silence his victims.

In addition to the sexual abuse charges of three boys between 12 and 17 years old, Andrew Michael Nisbet, 32, is facing three felony charges of solicitation of murder.

KRON 4 reported that prosecutors said Nisbet exchanged letters with an informant discussing the details and prices to kill his victims.

Nisbet is in custody at the Santa Rita Jail on the abuse charges including oral copulation by force, oral copulation with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, distribution or exhibition of lewd material to a minor and arranging a meeting with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior.

Nisbet was arrested on Dec. 7, shortly before he was to receive the 2013 Junior Golf Leader Award from the PGA's Northern California Section. PGA officials cited Nisbet "for his dedication and leadership in developing a wealth of exciting and educational golf programs for juniors."

Nisbet taught at the Las Positas Golf Course in Livermore and for the past five years he has helped plan and run the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships in Pinehurst, N.C.
