Upcoming School Holidays in Livermore

Only about 80 full school days left this year. Find out when you'll need to plan for days off and spring break.

If you're like me, you grab those school calendar magnets at back-to-school registration like they're gold and refer to them constantly to sync your schedule with the many school holidays that seem to pop up when you least expect them.

Lord knows the kids won't mention it until the last minute. And pray you're not the parent who shows up to an empty school parking lot.

If you can't find your magnet or you want an extra copy of the sked to print out and tuck in your planner, here's the 2013 calendar can be found at the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District website.

And here are the rest of the key dates you'll need to know:

  • President's Day 2/18/2013
  • Spring Holiday 3/29 - 4/5/2013
  • Memorial Day 5/27/2013

All schools are off the 15th, Patch only listed the holidays none of the teacher workdays (which there are plenty of) so check the calendar. :-)

Its Easter Break, not Spring Holiday. What the heck has happened to this Christian country? When will we get it back from all those others?

There are two teacher workdays on this calendar: August 21st and June 14th. And if we go back to calling it Easter break, do my Jewish kids stay in school that week? What exactly was taken away from you, and by whom?

I have been a teacher for over 20 years and I don't remember it being anything but Spring Break -- even when I was a child. Yes, winter break was called "Christmas Break" but then people learned to be more RESPECTFUL and changed it. I am sick and tired of those "Christians" who think they're better than everyone else trying to shove their beliefs down everyone's throats. This nation's beginning was caused by people's desires for religious freedom. Unfortunately, they had already learned what religious persecution was and chose to continue in their own way. I wish those "Christians" would remember, practice, and enforce the "Love Thy Neighbor" commandment rather than acting so righteously and being so quick to discriminate others based on their religious beliefs.

And before anyone loses their mind, please note I said "those'Christians'" implying that not all Christians behave this way.

Tammy- You're just a PC fool! If you really are a teacher God help our children!! Yes I did mention God! OH NO!!

It never was a Christian country and for the record, Christians stole Easter from the pagans. Read a book that isn't the bible and you might understand the world a little better. Of course, then you will have to deal with the fact that you are responsible for your own actions and telling God you are sorry doesn't give you a magic ticket to foreverhappyland. People really believe this stuff. Worshiping Zeus makes more sense!

Marie, what have you done for children today? I can't be happier that people like Tammy teach kids instead of closed minded cultists like you.

Does anyone know when the first day of school in August is yet?

Can you please also reference Livermore Valley Charter School calendar?
