Lab Employees Honored as 'Learning Champions of the Year'

Leslie Positeri and Brian Molyneaux were honored during a ceremony at the 2014 Global Skillsoft Perspectives user conference on April 10. The Innovation Awards honor companies for their notable efforts in learning, recognizing innovative ideas and inspiring leaders who are helping to transform the learning landscape.

Positeri and Molyneaux received the "Learning Champion of the Year" award. This award honors an organization's training champion who has achieved exceptional and consistent success throughout the year. This individual shows remarkable skills and innovation in delivering a successful learning program. In addition, this person serves as an ambassador for learning and has used innovation and ingenuity in their programs to better his/her organization through learning. This is the first year that Skillsoft has recognized a team to receive this award.

Positeri is a senior training and development specialist in the Strategic Human Resources Management Directorate, and Molyneaux is the eLearning information technology lead from the Business Directorate. Together they manage a best-in-class learning program, U-Learn. Positeri and Molyneaux achieved success by aligning the program with strategic business goals and embedding it into the workflow with innovative solutions such as competency knowledge centers, hybrid study groups for IT certifications and institutional leadership and succession planning programs.

The awards were judged by an independent panel of industry experts including Cushing Anderson of IDC, Todd Tauber of Bersin by Deloitte, Laci Loew of Brandon Hall Group, Mollie Lombardi of Aberdeen Group, Joe DiDonato of Elearning! Magazine, Catherine Upton of Elearning! Magazine, Ladan Nikravan of Chief Learning Officer and Craig Weiss of E-Learning 24/7.

Skillsoft's Perspectives user conference brings together more than 1,000 attendees from a variety of business, governmental and educational entities to network and discuss how to link learning to business goals. Skillsoft annually honors several notable companies for their significant achievements in corporate learning and development, recognizing innovative ideas and inspiring leaders who are helping to transform the learning landscape.

Some of the 2014 company winners include UST Global, Cablevision Systems, Capgemini, The PGA of America, TELUS, San Diego Gas & Electric and University of Alberta.
