Finalists Announced for New Las Positas College President

Officials have named four finalists for the presidency of . has been acting as interim president.

The finalists will appear at president candidate forums scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Feb. 24, in Building 800, Room 801. The college is at 3000 Campus Hill Drive in Livermore.

The finalists:

Dr. Joseph Olson

Dr. Olson is the vice president for military, community and economic development at Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree. He previously served as the school's vice president for finance and administration and as president of Jefferson Community College in New York.

Dr. Kimberly Perry

Dr. Perry is the vice president of academic affairs at Los Angeles City College. Before that, she served at Reedley College as vice president of instruction and also dean of instruction.

Dr. Stephen Schoonmaker

Dr. Schoonmaker serves as the vice president of instruction at Clatsop Community College in Oregon. Prior to that, he was vice president of instruction and student services at Southwestern Oregon Community College.

Dr. Kevin Trutna

Dr. Trutna is the vice president for academic and student services at Yuba College in Marysville. Prior to that position, he was the school's dean of math, engineering, science and health occupations. He also had been director of institutional effectiveness, research, planning and grants at Arizona Western College in Yuma.
