NTSB Investigating Plane Accident at Livermore Airport

Authorities say pilot lost control during landing.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating an aircraft accident at the .

At 11:15 a.m. Saturday, an Aviat Husky plane looped during a landing attempt on runway 25 left, said Josh Cawthra, NTSB aviation accident investigator.

"The pilot during the landing encountered a gust of wind and lost directional control," Cawthra said. "The aircraft ended up on the side of the runway and was substantially damaged."

The pilot was not injured in the accident, Cawthra said.

The runway was temporarily closed to get the airplane removed.
