Woman Drives Across Traffic, Over Trees and Into Backyard

The woman told officers she suffers from a medical condition and was taken to Eden Hospital as a precautionary measure.

A 49-year-old woman was taken to Eden Hospital Friday morning after she suddenly drove across traffic on Concannon Boulevard and into a resident's backyard, according to Livermore police Officer Traci Rebiejo.

Witnesses told Livermore police that the woman was in her silver Dodge Ram pickup truck eastbound on Concannon Boulevard near San Vicente Drive at about 8:51 a.m.

The truck wasn't moving on the side of the road, when suddenly the Dodge Ram accelerated quickly going left, across traffic, then went over an embankment, running over five small trees and then through a backyard fence before hitting an outdoor fireplace. The truck then fell on its side.

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to the collision and freed the woman from the truck. She said she wasn't injured, but was taken to Eden Hospital as a precautionary measure.

She told officers she suffers from a medical condition and Livermore police say they do not suspect she was driving under the influence.
