Things to Know in Livermore this Week: Little League World Series, Airport Open House, Styx Concert

Taste of Downtown, "Big Latch-On," book sale, Little League, and more events in town.

Monday, July 29

  • Callippe Preserve Golf Course -- Our Back Nine Breakfast Special is Back! $20 for golf, cart, breakfast sandwich and cup of coffee Monday through Thursday during the first hour of daylight.


Also, a kickoff parade fir the Little League World Series is scheduled to star at 6 p.m. in downtown Livermore, ending at the Bankhead Theater.

Tuesday, July 30
  • INTERMEDIATE LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES in Max Baer 1 Park. Ten teams from around the world — one local Host team, five more U.S teams and four international teams — for 19 games culminating with the Championship game Mon., Aug. 5, which will be broadcast live on ESPN. Details.

  • EarthCapades Planetary Circus. Livermore Library. Details here.
  • Exhibit Opening: Courage Under Fire. Museum on Main. An exhibit celebrating the history of the Pleasanton and Pleasanton-Livermore Fire Department from its volunteer beginnings to present-day professionalism. Details.

Thursday, Aug. 1
  • Livermore Cultural Arts Council Art Exhibit Opens. First day of exhibit, which will be on display all month in the Civic Center Livermore Library lobby.
  • FAMILY FIRST NIGHT at LIVERMORE SUMMER FARMERS' MARKET. Details.

Friday, Aug. 2
  • "The Big Latch On." Flagpole Plaza, corner of Livermore Avenue and First Street. Attempt to break world's record for most breastfeeding moms in one place.
