SUV Crashes Through Strings Restaurant

Minor injuries reported in accident when driver drove through Strings Italian Cafe in Livermore.

Monday's lunch hour at Strings Italian Cafe was interrupted when an SUV came crashing through the restaurant just off North Livermore Avenue, Livermore Police Sgt. John Hurd said.

Minor injuries are reported in the accident reported at 12:45 p.m. and caused when the driver of a parked vehicle in front of the restaurant apparently confused the pedals on the SUV, Hurd said.

"We are really lucky," Hurd said regarding the minor injuries reported. "There easily could have been multiple fatalities."

Strings Owner Wassim Sulimin also was thankful there was no other major injuries in the accident.

"We are very blessed," Sulimin said. "Any other day this could have been a disaster."

A similar incident occurred at the restaurant several years ago when an elderly lady accidentally pushed on the gas pedal of a parked vehicle in front of the restaurant, Sulimin said.

Rafael and his crew do great work, and not just lawn service. He replaced our sprinkler system andRead More sodded two new lawns when we moved into our house. He and his crew have trimmed trees, planted flowers, and even built a new fence and gate. All at a fair price. I can't recommend his services enough.

Kevin and Chris are good guys. They genuinely want to give back and care about introducing as manyRead More kids (young and old) as possible to the incredibly rewarding world of music. I am fortunate enough to have had somebody similar to these guys motivate me to get involved in music when I was a kid. 31 years later, I am still beatin’ on my drums every day. Great job Kev and Chris. Keep it up!
