VIDEO: Resident Displaced Due to House Fire

The fire caused excessive damage to the home and its contents, according to fire officials. Drivers on I-580 reported seeing the smoke from the freeway.

Information provided by Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department—

The LPFD responded at 4:52 PM on Tuesday November 19th to a structure fire on the 2300 block of 5th St., Livermore.  Upon the arrival of the LPFD, the single family residence was fully involved in fire.  Flames also threatened structures on both sides of the burning residence.

Initial attack crews attacked the fire and protected the neighboring homes with hose lines.  Firefighting efforts were hampered by an excessive interior fire load, and blocked access on the side yards and front door.  The fire was under control in 30 minutes.  Five Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and three Chief Officers responded to the fire.

A single occupant was displaced from the fire. The occupant was not home at the time of the fire, but arrived home during initial attack operations.  Damage to the structure, and contents were excessive.  The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the dollar loss has not yet been determined.  One neighboring residence had blistered paint and smoke damage.  There were no injuries associated with this fire.  The LPFD remained on the scene until 9:30PM.
