Police Seek Help in Sexual Assault Investigation

The Livermore Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred at about 2:12 p.m. Sunday.

A woman was walking along the Arroyo Road bike path at South L Street when she was approached by a man.

The man engaged the woman in conversation and eventually introduced himself as “Gabe.” During the conversation, he extended his hand as a gesture of introduction. As the woman reached out to shake his hand, he grabbed the victim’s hand and pulled her close to him. 

While holding the victim, the suspect grabbed an intimate part of the victim’s body. The woman immediately yelled at the man, prompting him to release his grasp. The victim backed away from the suspect, who then walked away from the victim.

The Livermore Police Department examined the facts surrounding this case and determined that this case is unrelated to the series of . The Livermore Police would like to encourage people to jog in pairs and be aware of your surroundings while out on the jogging trails. 

The Livermore Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating and identifying the suspect in this case. He is described as a 19-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches and 140 lbs.
