People make sure you speak up if you see anything unusual. Don't be afraid to speak up about the very small percentage of stupid people in town. We have no place for element such as this and we need to stand up to them in order to get rid of them!!

Sounds like a mentally changeled man that used to hang around Safeway parking lot. I would not, however, describe him as Hispanic.

I walk every morning and most often on this path. As a retired Peace Officer I get concerned for lone women who walk or jog with headphones or ear buds in while listening to music. We all need to keep our situational awareness levels high when we are using these paths. I'll be keeping an eye out for this suspect while walking my dog, particularly if he appears to be approaching a path user.

These sure seem to be challenging days in Livermore. These types of people in the Patch news sure point out a good reason to be alert and cautious.... Our city is changing.

You are absolutely right. Keep your eyes peeled.

Another crime possibly involving a young hispanic male? Considering the relatively low percentage of young hispanic and latin males in Livermore this may be worth following up.

Do not get all upset this has been going on for years on this bike path. And the police dept. knows all about it, i have lived on this bike path sense 1970 . Do you remember the attacks in the late 70's , or the ones in the mid 80's or the ones in early 90's how about the attacks at sycamore grove or the ones in ally going from mocho st over to wall st. It is much more safe now than ever in the past. We have a great police dept. it is the people of Livermore who do not get involved, if i see a new person on the path that looks out of place i go right out there and ask them there name, get to know people say hello.
Ryan Sherman May 09, 2012 at 12:25 AM
Sounds like that guy on the path was just "saying hello".

Hey Josh Radcliff i just saw two white young males parked in front of my house in a ford bronco blue 2001 rolling up a big fat joint. So i guess i'm seeing things according to you, and i had $50000 dollars worth of tools stolen but according to Josh Radcliff i'm seeing things . This is right on the bike path we have had many burglaries but according to Josh Radcliff my word is no good. Josh Radcliff is a Livermore cop who told me not to call city hall, i just spoke Josh Radcliff for 16 min and 36 seconds We need everyone to call city hall, the police are somehow offended by criminals on the bike path. They say my information is not credible.

Bryon, regarding your earlier comment, yes , incidents have been going on for years! It is with the advent of social media that we now HEAR about it. In 1988 I was jogging on the Arroyo path when I was assaulted. I was thrown down in the bushes and he had his pants off, when someone saw and yelled. I went in and did a composite sketch. I was stunned when none of this was reported in the newspaper the following day or week. when I attempted to post my composite sketch on the trail, a police officer came by and told me there was an ordinance against posting on the trail! Suffice it to say nothing ever came of it and they never caught the pervert!

I posted a sign years ago about crime in park strip the cops came to my house within minutes. Down at the almond park end. We need everyone to contact the city manager this is the only way to get things done. I know it works.

Yep! Same here! 140 lbs? Oh Puhleeese. That's about what a skinny PIG weighs. I can't W8! Just me and my can of WhoopA! Bring it!! On a serious note, it probably would be a smart idea to enter th LPD # into your cells 925-371-4900, because we all know 911 calls go to CHP somewhere in Vallejo.

I just drove by L St & Arroyo Rd & the guy that sells strawberries on the corner of Arroyo & Cartier looks hispanic, about 5'6 a little more than 140 lbs & appears on the young side. Hmmm??
Rob May 12, 2012 at 05:27 AM
I grew up in Livermore, but live in San Diego now. It's mostly hispanic here, yet San Diego has a very low crime rate. What's happened to Livermore?
Cherry May 12, 2012 at 06:04 AM
Vicki lol! I do have the LPD dispatch programmed in my phone. GREAT ADVICE!
