UPDATE: Pedestrian Injured After Being Run Over by Vehicle
A man was airlifted to a hospital after being struck and run over by a vehicle at the intersection of Industrial Way and Vasco Road.
A pedestrian was transported Monday morning to a hospital after being struck and run over by a vehicle at the intersection of Vasco Road and Industrial Way, officials said.
The accident was reported around 9 a.m. Witnesses told police that a man was walking in a crosswalk with the crossing lights on when he was struck by a vehicle, Sgt. John Hurd said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old man, was turning into the crosswalk and did not see the pedestrian, officials said.

Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Battalion Chief Jack Neiman-Kimel said the vehicle rolled over the pedestrian's right side.
Emergency crews found the injured man to the rear of the vehicle that struck him, Neiman-Kimel said.

"The pedestrian sustained right chest, right arm and right shoulder injuries," Neiman-Kimel said. "None were immediate life threats."
Firefighters and police temporarily blocked off a portion of the area to clear landing space for a helicopter, which transported the man to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.
