Man Arrested on Suspicion of Sexually Assaulting 6-Year-Old Boy

Livermore police arrest 40-year-old Lodi man for suspected sex crimes that occurred in Springtown.

On Monday July 2, 2012, detectives from the Livermore Police Department arrested Elias Muniz in the City of Lodi for three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, one by force. The arrest stemmed from a sexual assault investigation that occurred in the Springtown area of Livermore between 2003 and 2004. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Muniz, 40, and arrested him after locating him in the City of Lodi on July 2, 2012.

Detectives first received this case in June 2012. Based on the investigation, it was learned that Muniz lived in the city of Livermore from 2003 to 2004. During this time, Muniz sexually assaulted a 6-year-old male over the course of the one year time period. In 2004, Muniz moved out of the City Livermore. Muniz is currently being investigated in other cities for similar crimes involving additional minors. The victim of this case was an acquaintance of Muniz.

The Livermore Police Department believes there might be additional victims and is asking parents to talk to their children if they had contact with Muniz while he lived in Livermore.
