Homeless Man Found Dead in Dublin Identified

Officials say 57-year-old Craig Mason's cause of death has not yet been determined.

A homeless man found dead in Dublin at the beginning of December has been identified by officials at the Alameda County Coroner's Office.

Sgt. Paul Graves says 57-year-old Craig Mason, who was found dead on Dec. 6 near the former Hunan House Chinese Restaurant located on 7111 Village Parkway, was a known transient in Dublin.

"The cause of death is not back yet and is pending the toxicology report," Graves said.

According to Graves, the Coroner's Office had difficulty tracking down Mason's next-of-kin, which delayed being able to release Mason's identity.

"We do an exhaustive search for family," Graves commented.
