Firefighters Extinguish Suspicious Blaze at Boot Hill

Grass fire the second blaze reported at Boot Hill this month.

Firefighters on Wednesday contained a grass fire at the top of Boot Hill, said Jeff Peters, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department battalion chief.

The blaze, which charred a quarter-acre of grass, is considered suspicious, Peters said.

Firefighters were sent to the fire at 2:10 p.m., shortly after responding to an accident near where a .

It took three companies and about 10 minutes to extinguish the small fire, Peters said.

Boot Hill, located near and at the corner of Wall Street and Stanley Boulevard, is no stranger to grass fires. Officials say fire crews each year respond to the area to battle grass fires
