Fire Officials: House Fire Causes $80,000 Worth of Damage

A passing jogger reported the fire.

The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department responded at 7:27 p.m. last night to a reported structure fire on Heidelberg Drive in Livermore. Upon arrival, smoke was visible from the attic of the single story residence.

The fire was reported to the resident by a passing jogger. Numerous calls reporting the fire were soon reported to 911.  

First arriving companies attacked the fire, containing the fire to the attic over the garage. Other companies were assigned to salvage operations in order to protect the belongings and furnishings from smoke, water, and damage related to opening up the ceiling to contain the fire.  

24 LPFD personnel responded to this incident, 5 Engine Companies, 1 Truck Company, and 2 Chief Officers.

There were no injuries associated with this incident. The cause is under investigation. Early damage estimates are at $80,000.
