Carjacking Suspect Arrested, Bitten by Police Dog

The suspect was a 15-year-old male from Stockton, police say.

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested in Livermore this morning after police say he carjacked a man who had been sleeping in a parked car in the Costco lot.
According to police, the victim of the carjacking called police around 5:50 a.m. to report that someone had ordered him out of his car, grabbed him, took his car and drove away.

Officer Traci Rebiejo told Patch the suspect drove the car westbound on North Canyons Way and southbound on Airway Boulevard when officers spotted the car.

"The officers stopped the car, which initially yielded at the airport, and when officers started to initiate the felony stop to get the suspect out of the vehicle, he drove away," Rebiejo said. "The suspect gassed it and drove over a curb, into a field, coming to rest into a creek. The suspect fled on foot."

Rebiejo says officers called in a Pleasanton Police canine unit to help find the suspect.

"After about an hour of searching, he was found hunkered down in some thick bushes near Cattleman's restaurant," Rebiejo commented. "The suspect was bit by the police dog."

Rebiejo added that the suspect, who was arrested for carjacking, was a 15-year-old male from Stockton.
