Livermore Community Celebrates the Life of Kristina Chesterman

A candle light ceremony was held at her parents' home Tuesday night.

Livermore residents, family and friends came out Tuesday night to celebrate the life of one of their own.

"It was a wonderful way to get our community together to let the Chestermans know how amazing their daughter is," says Samantha Billings.

Kristina Chesterman, 21, was hit by a drunk driver on Sunday, Sept. 22 while riding her bicycle back to the California State University Chico campus.

She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to news reports, Chesterman was pronounced brain dead at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Billings, along with Chesterman's cheer team out of Granada High School: Ashley Holland, Taylor West and Paige Babbitt coordinated the celebration of life event.

"She has touched all of us in more ways than not," Billings says. "She will always be loved and never ever forgotten. A truly perfect angel was taken to heaven today. And we all love her more than words can say."
