Each year, the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce holds a series of summer luncheons at different venues in the area. The popular luncheons attract expert speakers in various area industries and hundreds of attendees. The third luncheon of the series this year is no exception.
Universal health care has been a hot topic in this election year. Kitty Guptill, is the Senior VP of Strategic Market Planning for Kaiser Permante's National Program. She is responsible for leading the strategic market planning and competitive assessment functions across the program.
Guptill will be the guest speaker at the Chamber luncheon next week. She'll talk about how health care will change our lives and our businesses in the future.
Guptill will address several topics, including:
- What part of the Obama administration's Affordable Care Act is already enacted?
- What happens if a different party is at the helm in 2013?
- What happens in 2014 when new reforms kick in?
This will be an opportunity to hear with clarity the impact of the legislation on the public, as well as the impact of a possible repeal.
The Chamber luncheon will be held at Concannon Vineyards, 4590 Tesla Road, on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's being catered by Checkers Catering and Special Events, and of course, Concannon wine will be served.
