Sprouts & Shutters: Anytime Fitness Coming to Livermore

The fitness facility will eventually move into the empty buildings on the corner of Holmes Street and Concannon Boulevard.

Officials with the City of Livermore Planning Division confirmed that during the Jan. 7 meeting, a Conditional Use Permit was approved for Anytime Fitness to open in Livermore.

The proposed 24 hour a day fitness center will fill the 5,296 square foot building on the corner of Holmes Street and Concannon Boulevard in the Granada Village Shopping Center.

According to the Planning Commission Agenda, the gym will have in place a "private security service that monitors the facility through cameras and video recorders," which is an amenity mentioned on the Anytime Fitness website.

The franchise also has plans to expand into Pleasanton, according to the Anytime Fitness website. The closest Anytime Fitness is located in Newark.

The Bay Area News Group reported that the gym, co-owned by Darren Leggett, is anticipated to be open in the spring of 2014.
