Livermore Chamber of Commerce Launches New Smartphone App

The Livermore Chamber of Commerce is one of the few northern California chambers who has a smartphone app for their members and customers.

The tagline "There's an app for that" is true even more now as the is one of the very first Northern California chambers - and perhaps the only one in the Bay Area - to have their own smartphone app. Built for the iPhone/iPad and Android smartphone operating systems, the free app is available to anyone who wants to connect with the chamber, its members and avail themselves of up-to-the-minute member discounts.

As more people use their smartphones to do business, it's critical to connect those businesses and customers together. The new app gives people easy access to several systems, including:

  • Discounts being offered by chamber members
  • Calendar of upcoming events
  • Searchable directory of all businesses
  • Monthly specials from the chamber
  • Social media links like Twitter, Facebook and the new Chamber blog

"Our mobile app opens new doors for our members by bringing their businesses directly to their customer's fingertips," said , president and CEO of the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce.

When a customer searches for a business by name or by category, they can touch their screen to call, e-mail or get to their website directly through their phone. This convenience brings the entire chamber membership to phones all over the valley.

Through the Livermore Valley Film Commission, the chamber actively woos filmmakers to the Livermore valley to film their commercials, shorts and feature films here. The partnership between the cities and chamber means that filmmakers experience a streamlined process to obtaining the necessary permits. The smartphone app gives filmmakers easy access to locally source all the resources they need like caterers, hotels, supplies, labor, and so on.

"The new mobile app also allows our Livermore Valley Film Commission to support filmmakers who need to find location sites, film crew assistance, see sample credits, and other critical support," Kaye said.

Anyone can download the free app by going to either:

iTunes for the iPhone and Ipad

Android Market

Businesses who want to be featured in the new smartphone app should contact the chamber by clicking the "Join" button in the app, signing up online or calling Nicole at 925-447-1606.
