Letter to Editor: Enjoy Livermore's Western Heritage at Upcoming Rodeo

Park district official previews the 2012 Livermore Rodeo.

Are you interested in an exciting glimpse into the Livermore Valley’s historic past and supporting our western heritage? If so, please consider attending the 2012 Livermore Rodeo on June 9 and 10.  Spectators are treated to some of the world’s best and most exciting barrel racing, saddle bronc and bareback riding, roping and bull riding.  And, everyone will enjoy the pageantry of the Grand Entry, the special recognition of our men and women in uniform, wild cow milking, one of the finest rodeo announcers ever and, of course, non-stop rodeo clown humor.

LARPD’s is again hosting the “World’s Fastest Rodeo,” thanks to the year-long efforts of the world’s most dedicated volunteer organization, the Livermore Stockmen’s Rodeo Association (LSRA).  In 1918, LSRA started the Livermore Rodeo to raise funds in support of the American Red Cross during World War I.  The all-volunteer LSRA has continued this western tradition, and this year, presents the 94th consecutive annual Livermore Rodeo.  Detailed information on the rodeo and LSRA is available at www.livermorerodeo.org. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s rodeo.
