Groundbreaking Held for I-580 Improvements

Construction is already underway with completion expected next year.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Livermore Thursday morning for improvements on I-580 in the Tri-Valley.

The project includes construction of a westbound HOV lane from the Greenville Road overcrossing in Livermore to the San Ramon/Foothill Road overcrossing in Dublin/Pleasanton, an eastbound auxiliary lane, and overall improvements.

The total cost of the improvements is $124 million. Everything should be finished in fall 2014.
