  • Christensen Middle School

    Christensen Middle School is named after Andrew N. Christensen, a longtime resident of the Livermore Valley whoMore served 19 years on the Green School District Board of Trustees and 14 years on the Livermore Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees.

    The school was established as an elementary school in 1977, serving students, grades K - 5. It transitioned into a middle school shortly after the remodeling of the existing buildings and addition of new classrooms in 1991.

    Christensen Middle School's leadership program is popular among students, who serve on various committees to facilitate noon-time activities, encourage school spirit, recognize student achievements, host talent shows and school dances and celebrate students and staff.

    The campus can host more than 900 students, a capacity it has yet to reach, officials said. The school colors are blue and gold and the school mascot is a cougar. Christensen is one of 12 schools in the district to have an API score of 800 or more.

  • East Avenue Middle School

    A California Distinguished School, East Avenue Middle School is located in one of Livermore's older and more establishedMore neighborhoods. It was originally established as an elementary school in 1956, but now serves more than 700 middle school students. The campus features 28 classrooms on 10 acres and was last refurbished in 2001. Educators at the school recently received a new staff room thanks to the Parent Booster Club. East Avenue's mascot is a dolphin, with school colors of blue and white. It is one of 12 schools in the district to have an API of 800 or higher.
  • Harvest Park Middle School

    Built in 1968, Harvest Park currently enrolls approximately 1150 students. It has been recognized as a National BlueMore Ribbon School, a California Distinguished School and a National School of Character. The school also takes part in the Community of Character initiative.

    The school's motto is "Kids Come First," and the mascot is the Patriot. The principal is Jim Hansen and the school has an active Parent Teacher Association which publishes the Patriot Press. Members of the group also work as volunteers, host events, raise funds and foster communication among faculty, staff and parents. 

  • Joe Michell School

    A California Distinguished School, the Joe Michell campus is a neighborhood school located at the center of a middleMore to lower middle class area in Livermore. It is one of 12 schools in the district to have an API score of 800 or higher.

    The school's neighborhood is home to a very diverse population. The school includes a significant Hispanic subgroup and many children on campus qualify for free and reduced lunch.

    Specialized programs on campus include Literacy Studio, Kid Connection, Instrumental Music, Running and Environmental Education. In addition, piano lessons are provided by the Oakland East Bay Symphony.

    The campus also has a strong after school enrichment program with classes on chess, art, Lego and robotics, African drumming, dance and cheerleading.

    The school, which uses an eagle as its mascot, was built in 1961. Its school colors are blue and white. Angela Ehrlich is the school principal.

  • Junction Avenue K - 8 School

    The Junction Avenue campus is newly renovated and reconfigured to include kindergarten through 8th grade. It servesMore 772 students and features three computer labs and a library with more than 20,000 books.

    The school has a Spanish and English Dual Immersion Program, which prepares students to become bilingual in the two languages by 5th grade. In addition, the campus features a parent center and science labs.

    The Junction Bulldog is the school mascot and the school's colors are purple and white.

    Vineyard Alternative School is located at the Rundstrom Learning Center. It is an independent home study program forMore students in grades 1 -12. The elementary program is designed to help parents who wish to instruct their children at home. Meanwhile, the high school program provides students the opportunity to create individual programs to meet their own interests and learning style.

  • William Mendenhall Middle School

    William Mendenhall Middle School, home of the Mustangs, serves 860 students in grades 6 - 8, on a campus built inMore 1967 in southwest Livermore. It is considered the largest middle school in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.

    The campus boasts a strong music program, with an orchestra, band, choir and music/drama elective courses. It also has the only middle school wood shop  program in the district.

    The school colors are maroon and gold. Susan Sambuceti is the school principal.
