Suspect Sought on Suspicion of Domestic Violence

Police searched Sunday morning for Richard McDonald in northern Livermore.

Police are looking for a man accused of beating his girlfriend in northern Livermore on Sunday morning, officials said.

Sgt. Kevin Santin said officers responded to a domestic violence call on Chestnut Street about 9:30 a.m.

The suspect, Richard McDonald, 28, reportedly beat his girlfriend, causing minor injuries, Santin said. No weapons were used, but the couple’s child was in the home.

McDonald, a recent parolee, ran away when police arrived. He attempted to hide in neighbors' homes and offered to pay people to help him hide or escape, Santin said.

Officers set up a perimeter in the area and used a helicopter and K-9 unit to search for McDonald, but they were unable to find him.

McDonald is wanted on charges of domestic violence, endangering a child and resisting arrest, Santin said.

McDonald is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a shaved head and multiple tattoos on his upper body.
