Livermore Hosting 'Community Compost Giveaway'

The event will be held on May 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the City of Livermore Maintenance Service Center parking lot.

Information from the City of Livermore--

On May 11, 2013, the City of Livermore Public Works Environmental
Services Division and Livermore Sanitation will be hosting a Community Compost giveaway.

When Livermore residents put their food scraps, food-soiled papers, and yard trimmings into their green Organics cart, the material is collected and processed into a rich soil amendment called “compost”. Livermore Sanitation residential customers can receive two bags of this compost per household, bringing that amendment home to their garden and helping to “close the loop” on recycling.

The event will be held in the City of Livermore Maintenance Service Center parking lot at 3500 Robertson Park Road from 9:00am to 12:00pm or until supplies last. Limit two bags per Livermore household – Livermore Sanitation invoice or ID required.

For more information, go to City of Livermore at www.cityoflivermore.net or call the City of Livermore Recycling Helpline at 925-960-8015.
