Gang-Related Shooting Suspect Charged

Roger Aleman, 18, is facing an assault with a deadly weapon charge, with a gang enhancement.

The Livermore man arrested in connection to a gang-related shooting on Sunday was charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office Wednesday, according to the Livermore Police Department.

Roger Aleman, 18, is facing an assault with a deadly weapon charge, with a gang enhancement and a second enhancement which prevents Aleman from getting probation if convicted.

The incident happened outside a home on the 1600 block of Chestnut Street on Sunday.

Several witnesses told Livermore police that four Norteno gang members confronted two or three Sureno gang members in front of a home on Chestnut Street at about 3:05 p.m.

Armed with handgun, Livermore police say Aleman, a member of the Sureno gang, fired two or three shots at the four Norteno gang members.

The 1600 block of Chestnut Street was closed to traffic while officers searched the surrounding area for the outstanding subjects and for evidence of the crime.
