Community Member Pitches in to Help Find Livermore Hit-And-Run Suspect

The late-October collision left the victim's car totaled.

A Livermore resident has helped Livermore Police identify a suspect in an early morning hit and run.

After Livermore Patch posted an article on the collision, which left the victim's car totaled, a resident contacted Livermore Police offering to help clean up a fuzzy photo.

"We don't have that kind of technology here for a hit-and-run," Livermore Police Spokeswoman Traci Rebiejo said. "He was able to clean it up and send it back to us quickly. I am really happy for the victim and for being able to move forward with this case."

The collision occurred at Second and S. L streets in Livermore at 9:20am on Oct. 23. The cleaned up license plate numbers lead Livermore Police to the last place of residence for the suspect, however the suspect was no longer living there.

"We have put a hold on their registration so that when they come in to renew, they will have to contact us," Rebiejo said. "That or they will be pulled over for having an expired registration. Either way, it will eventually catch up to them."

LPD is urging anyone with information regarding this truck to contact Officer Lash at (925) 371-4847. If you would like to attempt to clean/enlarge image to assist PD in identifying the license plate number, please call Traci Rebiejo at (925) 580-9665.
