Collision Sends Motorcyclist to Trauma Center

Traffic on 1-580 was impacted due to the collision near Vasco Road.

Traffic on westbound I-580 near Vasco Road was heavy this morning as two lanes were shut down due to a motorcycle collision that occurred around 5:26 a.m.  

According to Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief Joe Testa, the motorcyclist involved had "major injuries" and was taken by helicopter to a trauma center.

Testa says two lanes of the I-580 were closed down for about 30 minutes and caused traffic to be delayed.
