24 Hour Fitness Evacuated Monday

The fitness facility is open, according a 24 Hour Fitness employee.

Gym members were evacuated last night around 6:45 p.m. from the 24 Hour Fitness in Livermore after a strange odor was reported in the building, according to fire officials.

Livermore Pleasanton Fire Battalion Chief says Paul Legasa the building had been evacuated before fire personnel had arrived.

Legasa told Patch, via email:

"Two LPFD companies responded to a reported odor investigation. Appeared to be a malfunctioning appliance.  The building was evacuated prior to the arrival of our crews. Facility maintenance was on the scene to make repairs."

According to a 24 Hour Fitness employee, the club is open today for gym members. 24 Hour Fitness managers were not available for comment.
