13-Year-Old Girl Falls Through Second Story Window

The teenager was taken to a local hospital, according to police.

A 13-year-old girl in Livermore fell through her bedroom window in the early morning hours of Aug. 13, Livermore Police Officer Traci Rebiejo said.

According to Rebiejo, the teen had been sitting on her bed, which was against an open window, when she leaned against the screen and fell through to the ground.

"Officers responded to the 3800 block of East Avenue to an apartment complex around 2:45 a.m. where we found the girl," Rebiejo said. "The girl was alert and was able to move her arms and legs. We investigated the incident and determined it to be accidental. She was taken to a local hospital and the extent of her injuries are not known."

Rebiejo stressed the importance of children of all ages being careful around windows.

In Dublin, 7-year-old Ruth Carpizo, fell from a third-story window onto the asphalt on April 30.
