Sprouts & Shutters: The Last Word Now Open

New Year's eve is coming and this recently opened restaurant wants to invite you to join them in their celebration.

Need somewhere to go in Livermore for New Year's eve? Rick Dobbs, owner of the newly opened restaurant, The Last Word, says his restaurant is just the place to ring in the new year.

Dobbs and his wife, Theresa Dobbs, have a lot to celebrate this New Year's Eve as they have been working tirelessly since the summer to open the eatery. The husband and wife restaurateurs have embraced this his-and-hers business venture, drawing from her experience as a professional chef, while harnessing his experience as a cocktail writer and bartender.

Operating under a "soft opening" since Dec. 13, Dobbs jokingly warns in his blog that they are still working out the kinks and making sure the necessary details are fully sorted out for guests in time for the grand opening on Jan. 3. For those who cannot wait until the grand opening celebration, Dobbs invites guests to buy tickets for their New Year's Eve bash, calling it their "Night of Enchantment."

The speakeasy has taken on a unique approach on marketing to draw in guests by offering passwords via Twitter and Facebook. The enigmatic enticements seem to have worked, as the Facebook page already has over 1700 likes and a steady stream of customers, according to their Facebook page.

The New Year's Eve prom-themed event includes food, cocktails, music, a photo booth and a special toast at midnight, according to the website. To buy tickets to the New Year's Eve bash, click here.
