Sprouts & Shutters: Cosmic Dog Closed

The Cosmic Dog Yoga studio in Livermore closed on June 30, according to their website and Facebook page. The studio was located at 1923 2nd Street.

In a Facebook status update on June 20, the owners thanked the staff and said the studio has "not been profitable."

The post says: 

To all the Teachers, Staff, and amazing students of Cosmic Dog Yoga studio-

We wish to express infinite gratitude and love for touching our world with your beautiful lives and for being an integral part of our sacred space and community over the last five years.

Cosmic Dog Yoga was born in Livermore, CA at a tumultuous time and bloomed and bloomed in the midst of a most challenging economic phase. The unavoidable and truly unfortunate reality is that the studio has not been profitable for a very long time and is no longer solvent. There is a beginning, middle and end to all creation and now is the time for the Cosmic Dog Yoga studio to end, so that a new cycle of birth, creation, blooming, sharing and growth may begin.

At the end of this month, on Sunday, June 30th, 2013, Cosmic Dog Yoga will close its doors permanently.

A BIG, heartfelt, THANK YOU to Jennifer Lagorio, Islena Faircrest, Marcella McCormick, Candace Conley, Allison Nimmo, Michaela Kissinger, Jody Weltz, Julie Conrad, Laurie Gallagher, Caryne Mount, Tammy Kolda, Donna Manning, Jamie McMaster, Leilana Pueliu, Darby Shields, Colleen Millen, Dina Robertson, Danielle Robertson, Casey Walles, Lisa Gray, Gloria Persico, Jennifer Alvarado, Sarah Stolar, Kelli Barnett, Rena Wallingford, Kristine Lastoskie Lemler, Rick Allen, Suzanna Spring, Vrushali Tembe, Winter Brown, Pedro Franco, Corey Izzo, Jason Ricca, Dr. Baxter Bell, Maria Gapasin, Kimber Simpkins and Peter Guinosso (And also any of those loving teachers who shared their gifts and who, unintentionally, have not been mentioned.). Over the years you filled Cosmic Dog Yoga with the wisdom of your teachings. Livermore, CA is a brighter, lighter, more expanded part of this world because of your love, dedication, hard work, and care. 

We are not able to stay in the 1923 2nd Street location any longer and it is time to close the Cosmic Dog Yoga story. We are grateful for the time that we spent, in our beautiful sacred space, connecting with community in the spirit of healing, balancing, and evolving in love and empowerment. It has been an honor and a blessing to practice the art and science of yoga with the downtown LIvermore yogis. We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you who were a part of the Cosmic Dog Yoga family; each person a special facet of the gem of a studio that we have all loved and enjoyed so much over the years.

All current customers with auto-paying monthly memberships are no longer being charged and clients are encouraged to use any remaining classes at Cosmic Dog Yoga through the end of June. Any clients who wish to take classes with us between now and the end of the month may enjoy the low drop in rate of $13.50.
