Livermore's TriValley Ice Opened Its Rink Saturday

TriValley Ice opens its doors to the public Saturday, Oct. 12 from 6:30-9pm.

Ice Skating comes to Livermore this weekend.

TriValley Ice opened up Saturday, Oct. 12 for its first public skating night from 6:30-9pm. Skaters came out and, for $9 plus $2.50 for rental skates enjoyed a few laps around the rink, had some food and listened to some music.

The new business is one that has been in the works now for sometime.

"Livermore and TriValley have had ambitions of breaking ground on an Ice Rink for years now, and we were finally able to make it a reality," says TriValley Ice Spokesman John James.

James and the rest of the crew hail from Livermore, Walnut Creek and San Ramon as well as Boston and Ontario, Canada.

Along with location, timing was optimal.

"The growth of hockey, figure skating, and ice sports in the East Bay and California has increased substantially over the last 10 years, though facilities and venues with ice are still very limited," James says.

The business does intend to have a Grand Opening celebration further out but for now, opening the doors to the community was at the top of the priority list.

“Whether a hockey player, a figure skater, or just trying out skating for the first time at one of our Public Sessions, we can only hope that our patrons are walking away with lasting impressions and memories, a smile on their faces, and looking forward to their next visit to TriValley Ice,” he said.

TriValley Ice is located at 6611 Preston Ave., Ste. D, Livermore.
