I decided to put the desk on simultaneous auctions, at A Starry Night and on eBay, so that people from all over the world would have the opportunity to bid for the desk and contribute to our Pleasanton North Rotary annual fund-raiser without having to be there on Sept 24.   more ›

Ruby Hill Raises a Glass to Raising the Bar

Local winery blends elegance and affordable fun.

In 1887 John Crellin founded Ruby Hill Winery, which gets its name from the ruby red soil. Since then, the winery has seen its share of changes.  In this week's Wine Wednesdays, Monique Soltani finds out how this winery with a rich history is keeping up with the times. Ruby Hill Winery specializes in Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, offers a place to hold a picnic, and sells deli selections and wine in its tasting room. Tasting Room Hours: Open daily 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
