William Mendenhall Middle School, home of the Mustangs, serves 860 students in grades 6 - 8, on a campus built inMore 1967 in southwest Livermore. It is considered the largest middle school in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.

The campus boasts a strong music program, with an orchestra, band, choir and music/drama elective courses. It also has the only middle school wood shop  program in the district.

The school colors are maroon and gold. Susan Sambuceti is the school principal.

Livermore Area Recreation and Park District

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District was created in 1947. It oversees 29 neighborhoodMore parks, two community parks, soccer and ball fields, four regional parks and 10 special-use parks.

The district also provides preschool and child care to youth in kindergarten through eighth grade at all the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District's elementary and middle schools.

Other services include teen programs, fee classes, youth and adult sports, aquatics, environmental education, special events and senior services.

The district is governed by an elected, five-person Board of Directors.
