This small, family-run winery is off the beaten path and offers a friendly, down-home wine tasting experience.…More Located at the end of an unpaved driveway off a quiet side road, the winery is marked only by a simple sign on the side of the road; there is no "big white house" for which you can look.</p> <p>The reference is to an historic old white home that founder John Marion lived in when he first started crafting wines in 1992. Now with its own vineyard, Big White House is one of two wineries at this location, the other being John Evan Cellars which was started by the founder's son. Both "John the Elder" and son are frequently on hand during weekend wine tastings to talk about their wines which they describe as "handcrafted luxury wines of rare quality." Most weekends, you can taste the wine right from the barrel.</p>
