I loved that show. My husband and I have also grown up in Livermore, we had no idea he lived here…Read More either. @James Buckley always so judgmental, what is "the rest of your type" anyway? Just saying, intelligence is not exhibited by your use of acronyms. @Robb Dee people do not need to be corrected by you either. This article was to pay tribute, not to judge or speculate what others are thinking. Every time I read comments on these articles it is like a witch hunt. We have the patch to update us on the happenings in our town. Alot of the content does not make it to the Herald or other papers. I for one am grateful for the updates. The reporters of these articles are also constantly criticized. Get off peoples backs and be glad we have the information we get. Growing up in Livermore has been more positive than negative. Be an asset to our towns population, not a bundle of negativity. SMH. I will wait for my judgement and probably grammar, or spelling corrections. Hope everyone has a great day!!
Rest in Peace.

It's been 10 days since you left us, and the pain just won't subside. Everyday when I finally wake…Read More up, I just want you to prove it's a lie. God I want my phone to ring, I Just want a message to appear. On my Facebook or a text, I want sound of your voice to be near.Your passing has changed things in ways, I am truly blessed to say. I talked to Rene last Sunday, putting the past we had away. In the distance I heard Little Kenny, playing with toys and babling away. It's so sad that one day he with know, the reason why his Daddy couldn't stay. I promise I will call your Mother, and check on her everyday. Don't worry Brandin and Jr will protect her in everyway. Everybody Loves you Kenneth and it's hard to find the right words, Ashley and Zack and many others, are raising money for the funeral you deserve. You have a memorial site, next to the the place you were forced to rest, your candles are forever burning, waiting for this to come to justice. I give you my word and I promise, that I will fight and never give up, to find the person who took you ever so brutally from us. I know that life has these trials that we are forced to undertake, but these tribulations we are now going through makes me want to hesitate. To accept that you are gone, but never ever forgotten. I miss you so much and I Love you Kenneth Robert Ogden.

I just now learned of Mr. Ward's passing. I wish I could have paid my respects for him at the…Read More memorial. He was my 6th grade band teacher at Junction Avenue Middle School back in '85-86. He helped me to find my niche. That year I went from the violin, to alto saxophone, to the bass saxophone, but I was too short to reach all the keys. Finally, he guided me to the cornet - which he kindly explained to my confused 11 year old self that it wasn't a "clarinet", but rather it's like a trumpet, but different. That was the first of many years and friendships that started from playing that instrument. I wish I could have thanked you personally, Mr. Ward. You will be missed.

Mr. Ward was not just a teacher but a roll model for many of us. My brother was his student in the…Read More 80s, and I had the pleasure of being his student in the 90s. After graduating from Junction, I got the chance to work as his color guard instructor for the next few years. There was not a moment when he did not go above and beyond for me, the color guard students at Junction (many of which where not in his music class, and were in an after school program), the color guard students at Mendenhall, and my family. Mr. Ward was like another father to me, always reminding me to "K.I.S.S- Keep it simple stupid." His passion for music, education, and making everyone feel they were important were some of his strongest suits. I am honored to have had Mr. Michael Ward as a mentor.

Tillie was a wonderful lady and one of my Grandmothers best friends. I will always remember a phone…Read More call she made to me after Christmas time thanking me for my Christmas card that had my children on it. She said, "I sure miss Iris and wish she could be here to see her Great Grandchildren; what a wonderful picture". She did not have to make that call to me--but that's the kind of person she was. We'll now they are together again. RIP Tillie I will always remember you fondly.

I am 36 years old and I fondly remember Mrs. Calhoun from Marylin Avenue, when she worked in the…Read More library. She was the one who got me started into reading. I remember one year that there was a reading contest or something that you could do over the summer and if you read so many books, you would win a prize. I did a lot of reading that summer and I won the book "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein --(I still have that book.) Thanks to her and her encouraging words on books, I fell in love with reading and read all the time. She will be missed. My thoughts and Prayers are with her family. Kim H.
