This community college with 9,000 students offers associate degrees and certificate programs in health sciences, as well as credits transferable to the University of California (UC) and other four-year colleges. There are guaranteed transfer agreements with several schools and a concurrent-enrollment agreement with UC Berkeley. Started nearly 50 years ago to serve what was then a completely rural area, Las Positas became a fully accredited school in the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District in 1991. Both day and evening classes are offered.
