A California Distinguished School, East Avenue Middle School is located in one of Livermore's older and more established neighborhoods. It was originally established as an elementary school in 1956, but now serves more than 700 middle school students. The campus features 28 classrooms on 10 acres and was last refurbished in 2001. Educators at the school recently received a new staff room thanks to the Parent Booster Club. East Avenue's mascot is a dolphin, with school colors of blue and white. It is one of 12 schools in the district to have an API of 800 or higher.
