Two Livermore Little League Teams in NorCal State Tournaments This Weekend

State champions will play for a chance to represent the West at the Little League World Series.

By Louie Roessler — Updated 12:30 pm: The Livermore Juniors lost to Visalia National 8-6 in Saturday's NorCal Tournament while the Seniors won their game against Weaton 13-5.

The Little League Northern California State tournaments are for a chance to determine who will represent Northern California at the Little League Regional tournaments. At the Regional tournament, all state champions will play each other to determine who will represent the West at the Little League World Series, held at various venues around the country.

Notably this year the Intermediate Division World Series is in Livermore, starting July 30. For more information, click here. The Pleasanton National Little League already earned the host berth in the series by beating Granada June 22 9-2 in the D57 Championships.

The Livermore Juniors are 13-14 year olds with a 3-1 record in the Section 3 tournament, outscoring their opponents 39-4 in the three games they won. The state tournament started Saturday in Healdsburg.

The Livermore Seniors are 15-16 year olds. The Seniors were 4-1 in Section 3 and had to beat a team they lost to earlier in the tournament to win the title. Their next game is Tuesday at 8pm at American River College in Sacramento.

The Juniors drop to the elimination bracket and play their next game on Tuesday at 5pm at Healdsburg Recreation Park.
