MLB and Pink Converge on O.Co Tonight, Heavy Traffic Expected

There'll be a convergence of the green and gold and Pink in Oakland tonight and traffic on 880 is expected to be heavy.

At 5:07 p.m. the Oakland A’s and the Detroit Tigers will kick off game five of the ALDS at O.co Coliseum and at 7:30 Pink’s “The Truth about Love” tour will start across the parking lot at Oracle Arena.

“There’s going to be a lot of demand on 880 in both directions,” said John Goodwin at the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.

Sigalert.com showed traffic on Interstate 880 southbound was already slowing between downtown Oakland and O.co coliseum at noon.

Goodwin recommends fans take BART. “They (BART) will be running  special trains to and from the Oakland Coliseum complex today.”  Historically, BART runs longer trains when there events at O.co.

Both events are sold out meaning parking will be hard to come by at the lot shared by the two venues.

The Oakland A’s are expecting slightly more than 48,000 fans at tonight’s do-or-die game and another 15,000 music lovers will fill Oracle Arena.  The parking lot opens at noon and each car entering the lot will be charged $35.
