Granada High Baseball Seeded Number One In NCS Playoffs

Granada High School's baseball team has earned the number one seed in North Coast Section Division I championships.

The playoff brackets were announced Sunday afternoon.

Granada High, which is ranked third in the nation and second in the state, will have a bye in the first round of play.

The Matadors will play the winner of the Tuesday afternoon contest between eighth seeded Deer Valley and ninth seeded Liberty High.

The second round game will take place at 4 p.m. Friday at Granada High.

The Matadors finished the regular season with a 23-1 record. They won the East Bay Athletic League title for the first time since 1992.

Their only loss was a 4-0 defeat at the hands of California High on May 8. Granada beat De La Salle, the number two seed in the Division I playoffs, twice this season.
