Five Livermore Residents Complete Boston Marathon

David Ly had the fastest time of the day among local residents in the prestigious race.

In a race which Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai ran the fastest marathon in recorded history, five Livermore residents also took part in the 115th annual Boston Marathon on Monday.

David Ly, 42, turned in the fastest time of the day among local residents, finishing the 26.2-mile course in 3:10:46 — a pace of 7:16.86 per mile.

Tara Carreira, 37, Livermore's only female participant, finished in 3:26:13 — a 7:52 pace.

Eric Carlo, 53, completed the course in 3:48:25 — a pace of 8:43.

Mark Goralka, 45, turned in an official time of 4:09:09 and Ian Veroni eclipsed the five-hour mark with a time of 4:47.58.
