Fast & Furious Festival

Gather friends and family and head to the 2nd annual Safeway Fast & Furious Festival powered by Hill Physicians Medical Group on Sunday, August 5 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. along Main Street in Pleasanton. The festival features a full day of running and bike racing that will appeal to serious athletes, weekend warriors and families.

The day starts at 8:00 a.m. with a 5K Run/Walk  tailored to those looking for a flat, fast 5k PR course that willl also appeal to the casual runner/walker or family looking for a great way to spend a summer morning . 

The Mile of Truth follows the 5K and features elite runners competing for a portion of $2,000 in cash during a turbo-charged race that starts under the arch on Main Street.

Criterium-style bicycle races start at 11:30 a.m. and last throughout the day. The festival concludes with an all-out, high-octane men’s and women’s professional bike race with the winners taking home the NCNCA Elite Criterium Championship title and a share of $12,500 in cash and prizes. 

A free kids’ run is scheduled for 10:50 a.m. and free kids’ bike races will take place at 2:50 p.m. All kids will receive a finisher’s medal.

Festivities include a health and wellness expo, two live bands on the Rock the Block stage, BMX demonstrations, a beer garden and a VIP tent. While downtown, be sure to stop by your favorite merchants, many of which will be featuring Fast & Furious deals. 

Downtown Pleasanton offers competitors and spectators a wide variety of shopping and dining experiences before, during and after the event. The quaint downtown allure is the perfect destination for those coming from out of town or from around the Bay Area. Come early and stay late! 

Proceeds from the event will be donated to ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) whose goal is to end ALS. ALS TDI envisions a future where patients no longer die from ALS and where today's patients are alive, well, and enjoying the company of their children and grandchildren.
