Two Local Kids Sweep Art Contest, Win Supplies For Their Classrooms

Granada High and Junction Elementary pupils snag two of five awards in statewide competition.

Student artists Enikoe Bihari from Granada High School and Jodi Bryant from Junction Avenue K-8 School were two of five winners recently named in a statewide art competition.

Both winners receive a $75 award, plus $200 in art supplies donated to their respective classrooms.

Bihari and Bryant were among more than 300 participants throughout California entered in the contest sponsored by law firm Dannis Wolliver Kelley.

Canvas bags bearing the winning images will be distributed to
various school officials and board members at education conferences and events by DWK, which operates legal offices in San Francisco, Long Beach and San Diego.

DWK composed a video set to music of the art entries, which can be viewed here.

“We don't get to see the results of kids' creative work often enough," the legal firm said on its web page.

Adding: "We were honored and humbled by what arrived to our mailboxes and e-mail from K to 12 students sharing their artistic takes on California's schools for our art contest."
