Public Invited to 12th Annual 'Science Odyssey' Event

The event, hosted by the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, will be held at the Junction Avenue K-8 School on Feb. 20.

Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District is proud to present the 12th annual Science Odyssey event. Over 700 students, a record-setting number, have registered to display a research or engineering project for judging. 

All visitors may view both the project display and the exhibitor areas. Exhibitors will include Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, Swaim Biological (with live snakes, turtles, and other creatures), Zone 7 Water District, PG&E, Solar Universe (watch for their portable model solar house on display in the quad), City of Livermore Community Development Department, Abbie 4-H, New World System, Livermore Sanitation, VacuaTechniques (vaccum pump activities), Livermore Lithophiles, and LHS Green Engineering Academy.

Live music will be provided by Scientific Jam. 

Students will defend their projects to volunteer judges from the science and engineering community prior to the public viewing. Projects will have award ribbons displayed for the public viewing on Thursday.

Also on display will be the winning logo contest designs and winning photographs from the Art of Science student photography competition.

Presentation of Best-of-Show awards for students projects: 6:45 PM in the multi-purpose room.
