Parent Club Information Council to Hold Candidate Forum

PCIC will hold a school board candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Here's information provided by the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District's Parent Club Information Council:

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School Board of Trustees has two seats open for the November 6, 2012 General Election. Four residents have filed papers to run for two vacant seats on the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Board of Education. Incumbents Belia Martinez and Chuck Rogge are being challenged by David Jonas and Tom McLaughlin. Each elected Trustee will serve a full four-year term.

The District’s Parent Club Information Council (PCIC) will hold a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. in the Board Room located at 685 E. Jack London Blvd., Livermore, CA 94551. PCIC is a group of parent leaders representing each of the District’s school sites. The group acts as a parent network to advocate for and communicate between parents, schools, the District, and the community regarding the education and welfare of the children of "our" community with its motto being "It Takes The Whole Village To Raise The Child."

PCIC takes its charge seriously and offers this opportunity to the community to meet the four candidates and hear their answers regarding their interests, experiences, and educational perspectives. This event is open to the public and the media.

For more information about this important evening, please contact Ellen Goold, PCIC Chair, at bandegoold@comcast.net.

Rafael and his crew do great work, and not just lawn service. He replaced our sprinkler system andRead More sodded two new lawns when we moved into our house. He and his crew have trimmed trees, planted flowers, and even built a new fence and gate. All at a fair price. I can't recommend his services enough.

Thank you D! We couldn't be happier to have a program like this in our community. We couldn't agreeRead More with you more that giving back is the whole purpose of the program; to make our community a stronger more musical one for our youth!

Kevin and Chris are good guys. They genuinely want to give back and care about introducing as manyRead More kids (young and old) as possible to the incredibly rewarding world of music. I am fortunate enough to have had somebody similar to these guys motivate me to get involved in music when I was a kid. 31 years later, I am still beatin’ on my drums every day. Great job Kev and Chris. Keep it up!
