Livermore High School Dedicates Last Football Game to Veterans

The Livermore-Granada High School Football game takes place Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7PM with military celebration beginning at 4:30PM.

On Thursday November 7, Livermore High School will host Granada High School for the last game of the season and will dedicate this game as a Military Appreciation Game. 

“This game is played just before Veterans Day weekend and it’s a great way for the community to honor all of our Military,” said James Petersdorf, Livermore High Athletic Director.

With the help of the Livermore recruiting office of the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and Navy personnel there will be a grand display of military static equipment for football patrons to walk around and visit. 

Starting at 4:30pm, Military personnel will be available to answer any questions regarding these interactive visual displays.

Vice Mayor Stu Gary will be giving the opening welcome for the Varsity game, followed by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard presenting the flag and the National Anthem sung by three students from Livermore High School. 

The Varsity Game will begin promptly at 7pm. 

Mr. Petersdorf suggests that football fans may bring a small flag to wave during the opening dedication of the Military Appreciation Game as we honor our active and veteran military personnel for their service to our country.
