Engineers Boosting Science Education at Livermore Schools

Today is Science in the School Day at Michell and Junction Schools.

Written by Beatrice Karnes

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education is getting a boost at two Livermore schools today as Michell and Junction K-8 Schools host Science in the School Day.

Each school is holding a 90 minute assembly featuring engineers. Science in the School Day is a partnership of DuPont and Mayor John Marchand.

Dupont started Science in the School Day 12 years ago  in response to school budget cuts and declining scores in math and science. DuPont field engineers perform a hands-on 90 minute science experiment designed to help students develop confidence with problem solving and engineering concepts at an early age.
