Two Livermore Daycare Employees Arrested for Using Swaddling to Abuse Babies

this week on three charges of felony child neglect and abuse and four counts of misdemeanor child neglect and abuse. Police said the two practiced dangerous types of swaddling that put at least seven infants and young children at risk of serious injury or death. Nazila had already lost her daycare license for the same violation.

Driver Crashes into Pet Food Express

The Pet Food Express pet wash was damaged when an SUV crashed into the building during the early morning hours of April 16. A Pet Food Express staffer reported that the driver of the SUV was arrested by Livermore Police. Linda Loza of Pet Food Express says the damages to the pet wash will cost upwards of several hundred dollars, while keeping the wash closed for business for at least a month, while the repairs are finished. Four Men Facing Real Estate and Conspiracy Charges

One of the defendants, who had a Pleasanton business as well, also charged with perjury and had already been charged with assault and grand theft in another case. Hogarty, 49, was arrested when he showed up for his preliminary hearing on Monday for the assault case related to an attack on a former roommate at his Livermore home. Read the full story here.

A Special Livermore Homecoming for a Local Hero

Marine Staff Sgt. Jason Ross was humbled by the community's support in his return to Livermore this week. Ross, who lost his legs when he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device while on patrol in Afghanistan on March 7, 2011, has been recuperating at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and more recently in San Diego. Ross threw out the first pitch at the Livermore High-Granada High baseball game on Wednesday after being greeted by a Wounded Warrior motorcycle escort last Sunday.
